Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

The students perform an independent study where they are responsible

for formulating a question under study which can be addressed with

methods from computer science.  They make their own choice of method

and are responsible for the progress of the project.  Results are

reported both in writing and at an oral presentation.

Intended learning outcomes

- apply skills and knowledge acquired as part of the computer science engineering program on a selected problem

- independently indentify, formulate, and analyze substantial problems in computer science

- identify own need of further information and independently acquire the knowledge and skills needed to solve the problem

- motivate the choice of method based on the question asked and expected results

- reflect on, evaluate, and critically examine own and others results

- document and present the work, orally and in writing, with demands on structure, content, presentation, formal content, style, and writing

- plan the work in light of available time and resources.

Specific prerequisites

At least 101 credits from the compulsory courses year 1, year 2 and period 1 from year three must be completed at latest 1/11.
