Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

  • Basic reading and oral skills
  • Elementary Spanish grammar and pronunciation practice
  • Practice in understanding, speaking and reading simple texts
  • Writing exercises

Intended learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student should be able to:

  • speak and write the language in everyday situations and simple workplace situations (levelA1/A2)
  • understand and distinguish the main content of clear standard speech on well-known subject areas (level A2)
  • identify and give an account in Swedish of facts from authentic texts with some connection to specialised topics.
  • give a short individually prepared oral presentation in the target language (level A2/B1)
  • specify important facts (life and institutions) on Spanish-speaking countries and search for information related to their history, society, geography, culture and language.

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.

The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.

If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.
