Intended learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student should be able to:
- speak and write the language in everyday situations and simple workplace situations
- understand and distinguish the main content of clear standard speech on familiar topics
- use the spoken language in everyday situations when talking about well-known topics
- write texts, for example thank you letters or requests
- identify and give an account of facts from simple texts with some connection to specialised topics.

General entrance requirements for university studies with 2-3 years' study of Japanese or equivalent and a compulsory placement test before applying or a pass in Japanese, Advanced Beginners’ Level I, DS1382 or DS1383. See our website for the test and more information.

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.
The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.
Other requirements for final grade
75% attendance. Assignments (ANNA; 3 credits and ANNB; 3 credits), written examinations (TENA; 1,5 credits and TENB; 1,5 credits).
