Content and learning outcomes
Course contents
At least five weeks of full time internship work at a workplace in the industry, at a hospital or at a research institution at a university. The internship can also be an MFS-project.
Intended learning outcomes
After the course the participant should be able to apply the skills and knowledge that have been given in the mandatory and conditionally elective courses in the program in an environment connected to industry, healtcare or research in medical engineering.
Course disposition
“The student is him/herself responsible for finding an internship. The examiner must approve the choice of internship before the internship course begins.
The student should continuously document his / her work in the form of a simpler logbook.
After completing the internship, the student must summarize his/her work in writing, together with a reflection on how the completed internship links with the student's education program. The student should also give an oral presentation of the work.”

Examination and completion
If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.
Grading scale
Examination
- PRO1 - Oral and Written Presentation, 7.5 credits, grading scale: P, F
Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.
The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.
The course will be presented in the student´s transcript of records with course name and title of the internship work

Opportunity to raise an approved grade via renewed examination

- All members of a group are responsible for the group's work.
- In any assessment, every student shall honestly disclose any help received and sources used.
- In an oral assessment, every student shall be able to present and answer questions about the entire assignment and solution.
