Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

This course consists mainly of a project; developmet of a multimedia application (or another application after agreement with the responsible teacher).

The course is executed in project groups with 6-10 project members.

The course is based on the theory in the partly preceding/partly parallel course IV1301 IT project, part 1 - method. The theory from IV1301 is applied in this course.

Intended learning outcomes

The goal of the course is to give the students:

  • ability to and experience of solving problems and developing software in a group under a limited time and with limited resources using a structured development process.
  • knowledge and experience of agile development processes.
  • knowledge and experience of using important tools, support systems and techniques (like testing and revision control).

Specific prerequisites

Completed upper secondary education including documented proficiency in Swedish corresponding to Swedish B and English corresponding to English A. For students who received/will receive their final school grades after 31 December 2009, there is an additional entry requirement for mathematics as follows: documented proficiency in mathematics corresponding to Mathematics A and the specific requirements of mathematics, physics and chemistry corresponding to Mathematics D, Physics B and Chemistry A and:

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.

The grades are pass/fail (P/F).

Preparation tasks in groups of two students.

Project work: a project group consists of 6-10 students. The project is examined continuously on both group and individual level.
