Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

Lectures will be around the projects topics.
Group projects topics will be offered, defined and supervised by staff members at ECS department and are expected to be related to research activities and other courses given in the program.

Intended learning outcomes

In the course the students shall in teams of 4-5 persons conduct a design project. The aims for the students are:

- To put the knowledge acquired in previous courses into concrete praxis;

- Learn to use the complicated CAD tools in more detail;

- Conduct a project in a systematic way from requirements definition to design and verification;

- To be introduced to a research group as preparation for the master thesis.

2B1513 Digital Design using HDLs
2B1423 ASIC Design methodology using HDLs
For SoC Circuits & Radio track:
2B1611 Low power Analog & Mixed-Signal ICs
2B1600 Radio Electronics
plus specialization courses (or equivalent knowledge) related to the project

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.

The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.

If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.

Examinantion consists of Project - 5credits
(Complete the design project, write a report and oral presentation).
