Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

The course covers principals of material synthesis with the fockus on the synthesis of polymeric materials including the mechanisms and kinetics of different polymerization reactions and chemical characterization of the synthesized materials.

The laboratory work will give practical experience in synthesis of materials and evaluation and characterization of the synthesized materials with respect to their chemical structure.

Intended learning outcomes

After the course the student should be able to describe, evaluate and analyse material synthesis

  • Explain synthesis of different materials
  • Draw relevant structures and mechanisms för synthesis
  • Analyse and propose relevant synthesis methods
  • Evaluate and characterize the synthesized materials
