In addition to the aims that are specified in the higher education ordinance, a master who has been graduated from Applied Logistics, KTH, should demonstrate:
Knowledge and understanding
- good understanding that logistics is an important factor when it comes to creating competitiveness and profitability in a company
- good understanding that logistics is primarily about making a company's flows function in a customised and cost efficient way
- good understanding that logistics concerns the total company and not only a part of it, i.e. have got an overall view of the flows of a company
Skills and abilities
- good ability, based on the knowledge of the different activities in the flow, to an overall view and understand how own actions influence the results for the entirety
- good ability to change your own part of the logistics in such a way that it favours the entirety and does not lead to suboptimisation
- good ability, in a group or independently, to identify, analyse and solve various types of logistic problems in an academic methodical way
- good ability to present and communicate prepared logistic proposals
Ability to make judgments and adopt a standpoint
- good ability, without prejudice and based on a theoretical framework, to tackle different logistic problems
- understand that logistics is an interdisciplinary approach that may concern all established functions in a company
- be able to evaluate different logistic solutions from their total economic consequences for the company
