  • Solar energy faces up to a challenge

    Better feeds to the electricity grid, energy storage and smart grids in combination with solar cells and less expensive solar equipment. These are a few of the items on the agenda to ensure that solar energy will become an energy solution to be reckoned with in the future.

  • Solar-driven fridges, a winning concept

    With the sun as an energy source and nanotechnology as the tool, two KTH students have managed to produce a cheap fridge that runs on solar power. This idea is so smart that the company behind the invention has now been awarded the newly instituted Innovation Prize Student 2010.

  • Renewable Energy Park, RE-Park (completed)

    Use of green energy generated by solar and wind power technologies would help contribute to a clean and secure energy future for Sweden compared to conventional fossil energy resources. Along with the EU-directive for renewable energy of July 2009, Sweden declared that its primary national target is at least 50% of its total energy use would be from renewable energy resources by year 2020, and out of that, there would be at least 10% in transport sector.
