Honorable mention - Pecci and Mikhalevich Awards

Trade-offs and synergies among ecosystem services and biodiversity under forest management scenarios

Xi Pang is a PhD student in the Environmental Management and Assessment Research Group , at the Division of Land and Water Resources Engineering , KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden. Her paper on “Trade-offs and Synergies Among Ecosystem Services and Biodiversity Under Different Forest Management Scenarios – Case Study of a Forest Landscape in Southern Sweden” was "technically among the best papers submitted" (internal reviewer). Xi spent her summer in IIASA's Ecosystems Services and Management Program (ESM).

For her paper and work on this project, Xi Pang was granted a 2013 YSSP Honorable Mention in the competition for the 2013 Peccei and Mikhalevich Awards . The Awards are given annually for outstanding work by participants in IIASA's Young Scientists Summer Program. They provide financial support for the winners to return to IIASA for an additional three month period of research.
