Eligibility and application
Do you want to apply for housing through KTH Accommodation? Unfortunately, we can not provide accommodation for all students. If you are guaranteed accommodation and how you apply depends on your type of studies at KTH and if you pay tuition fees.
1. Tuition fee-paying students doing a full master's or bachelor's programme

Tuition fee-paying students doing a full master's or bachelor's programme (including scholarship holders) are guaranteed accommodation for up to two academic years, depending on start date. See all

Application and confirmation
August 2024
For those who plan on starting their studies at KTH in August 2024, the application will be open in May 2024.
The first installment of the tuition fees must be paid before applying since the applications can only be approved if the payment is done. It doesn't matter when in May you apply, there is no first-come first-serve rule.
Late application in June
If you are admitted after 31 May, or are awaiting confirmation of your tuition fee transfer, you need to send an e-mail to
accommodation@kth.se
before you can make a late application.

2. Joint master's students
Accommodation service
Joint master's students (including EU, EEA and Swiss citizens) in the following programmes can apply for housing for their first year at KTH according to the
conditions for KTH Accommodation

- Biostatistics and Data Science
- Molecular Techniques in Life Science
- Computer Simulations for Science and Engineering
- Decentralized Smart Energy Systems
- Security and Cloud Computing
- Innovative Sustainable Energy Engineering (Nordic Five Tech)
- Polymer Technology (Nordic Five Tech)

For those who plan on starting their studies at KTH in August 2024, the application will be open in May 2024.
Before applying you must have received a formal Letter of Admission from your program at KTH.

3. Exchange students
Accommodation service eligibility
Exchange students (including double degree and dual master exchange students) doing one or two semesters at KTH are not guaranteed accommodation, however, you can still apply for housing through KTH and be offered accommodation if there is availability. We highly recommend all exchange students incoming to
search for housing on your own
in addition to applying.
Application
Remember to tick the checkbox for accommodation when applying for exchange studies at KTH (in the system Mobility Online). If you forgot to check the box, contact your exchange coordinator.
All incoming exchange students starting January 2025 will be sent a welcome letter from KTH via email in the end of November with the housing application link. Remember to check your spam inbox. Please make sure to fill in the application form without delay, and follow through with all steps necessary, in order to have a chance to housing through KTH Accommodation.
Offers are sent out in December 2024. Start date on the contracts will be January 13th 2025.
Contracts for one semester will end the week before the end of autumn term (start of January) and for two semesters June 30 2025 (including that night). Check the dates for the

before applying. Use the application link in your welcome email sent May 8th, (not the link for group 1 or 2, it will delay your application) and make 1 application only.
4. Other types of students
Accommodation service eligibility
Non tuition fee-paying students (citizens of EU, EEA or Switzerland), other than those covered in group 1,2 or 3, can not apply for accommodation via KTH. Your eligibility is not affected by if you are doing a full master's or bachelor's programme, are admitted to courses only, or doing an internship.
Due to a change in Swedish law limiting universites possibility to rent out housing effective from January 2023, we can no longer offer accommodation to this student group. We recommend
looking for housing on your own
