Eligibility and application
Interested in applying for housing through KTH? Your chances of securing accommodation and the process depend on your type of studies at KTH and whether you pay tuition fees. Please note that we cannot offer housing to all students.
Identify your student group
The housing offer and application process differ depending on your student category. Click on the links below to see what applies to you.
- Tuition fee-paying students doing a full master's or bachelor's programme

Exchange students, including double degree and dual master's students
1. Tuition fee-paying students doing a full master's or bachelor's programme
Tuition-fee-paying students doing a full master's or bachelor's programme (including scholarship holders) are guaranteed accommodation for the first academic year through KTH Housing. See all conditions for KTH Housing .

The first installment of the tuition fees must be paid before applying.

A link to the registration form is available here from 4 May to 31 May. Fill out the form and make sure the information is correct before submitting it. If you need help changing any details in your application or account, contact housingoffice@kth.se . Do not make another application.

After filling out the form, you get instructions via email on how to create an account in KTH's application system Mobility-Online and complete your personal data. Make sure to check your e-mails, including your spam folder.

When you have made a Mobility-Online account, select 4 room preferences and confirm them in Mobility-Online before 31 May. Your chances of getting one of your preferences are the same no matter when you apply in May.

Wait for your housing offer. Offers are sent out continuously from 1 June to the first week of July.

Confirm or reject the housing offer in Mobility-Online within 48 hours of receiving it.

Shortly after confirming the offer, you receive the first rent invoice by email. You make the payment in Mobility-Online before the due date mentioned on the invoice.

After the payment has been processed you will be asked to download, sign and upload the contract in Mobility-Online.

When you have uploaded the signed contract in Mobility-Online you are welcome to collect the keys at KTH Entré from the start date of the contract. Please read the conditions for key pick up .
2. Joint master's students
Joint master's students (including EU, EEA and Swiss citizens) in the following programmes can apply for housing for their first academic year at KTH.

Before applying you must have received a formal Letter of Admission from your programme at KTH.

3. Exchange students, including double degree and dual master's
Exchange students, including double degree and dual master exchange students, coming to KTH for the fall semester 2026 are welcome to apply for housing. However, please bear in mind that there is a limited stock of rooms and apartments, which means that housing is not guaranteed. We always recommend to search for housing on your own in addition to applying with KTH Housing.
All incoming exchange students starting August 2026 will be sent a welcome letter from KTH via email at the beginning of May with the housing application link. Remember to check your spam inbox. Please make sure to fill in the housing application form without delay and follow through with all steps required in KTH's application system Mobility-Online before the deadline stated in the email in order to have a chance to housing through KTH Housing.
Once the application period closes, booking will start and offers will be sent out continuously. If you receive an offer, you have 48 hours to accept or decline it in Mobility-Online. It is not possible to change the offer, or decline it and get another one.
Start date of the contracts will be 1 August, 2026. The default end date for one semester is 7 January and for 2 semesters 30 June, 2026 (including that night) with the possibility of contract changes with two full calendar months’ notice.
Read the conditions for KTH Housing before applying. Use the application link in your welcome email and make 1 application only.
4. Other student groups
Non tuition fee-paying students (citizens of EU, EEA or Switzerland), other than those covered in group 1, 2 or 3 above, can not apply for accommodation via KTH. Your eligibility is not affected by if you are doing a full master's or bachelor's programme, are admitted to courses only, or doing an internship. We recommend looking for housing on your own .
