In the review assignments, motivation & background will be combined to one slide to make the review content more compact. It needs to be clarified on Canvas that student reps do not intervene in or support administrative or grading tasks. Project supervision needs to be changed in two ways: two compulsory meetings with the supervisor need to be arranged, at which all students are present and report on their contribution. If in two such meetings, some student seems to contribute less, then individual examination of that student needs to be considered. Second, if there are two parallel groups by one supervisor, then the supervisors must be clearly advised to have both groups running a full experiment. I would hope that these measures would also help in the assessment problem that occurred for some students. I do not believe that it is a good idea to have students forming their groups themselves, as this creates a disadvantage for students with fewer social contacts and networks, or with other communication problems.
