Oral proficiency/listening comprehension:

• Discussions, formal meetings and negotiations in German
• Summaries of general and technical character, presentations

Reading and writing proficiency:

• Reading skills
• Writing summaries of general and technical character, short reports, memos, letters, applications

After completing the course, the student should be able to:

Listening comprehension

• understand the content of clear standard speech on general subject areas/events. (level B2)

Reading comprehension

• understand and give an account of authentic texts dealing with topical issues on technical subjects and working life. (level B2)

Speaking

• converse and discuss informally on topics of personal interest or related to studies, work or topical events. (level B1)
• orally summarise texts of a general and/or specialist nature (level B1/B2)
• give an individually prepared oral presentation of a specialised nature (level B2)

Writing

• summarise texts of a general and/or specialised nature (level B1/B2)
• write a factual report or an expository/argumentation text (level B1/B2).

• TEN1 - Language Proficiency, 4.5 credits, grading scale: A, B, C, D, E, FX, F

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.

The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.

75% attendance. Oral and written examinations (ANN1; 1,5 credits and ANN2; 3 credits), language proficiency (TEN1; 4,5 credits)

Technical German, Advanced Level

The course has limited participation. Students who are not present at course start risk losing their place on the course.

The course programme may be subject to changes and courses with an insufficient number of students can be cancelled or get a reduced number of lessons.
