After the course, the student should be able to:
- use the spoken and written language in simple everyday situations (level A1)
- understand and give an accurate account (in Swedish) of information from different elementary texts
- give a short, individually prepared oral presentation in the target language (level A2/B1)
- use an ideogram dictionary to find unfamiliar ideograms
- translate simple sentences from Japanese to Swedish and vice versa.

75% attendance. Oral proficiency (ANNA; 1,5 credits and ANNB; 1,5 credits), written examinations (TENA; 1,5 credits and TENB; 1,5 credits).
