Intended learning outcomes

  • Gain insight into how to communicate energy science to different target groups, using different channels and techniques
  • Apply basic principles of communicating science for non-specialized audiences
  • Persuasively explain a research idea in a three-minute ‘elevator pitch’
  • Produce a written account of one’s research area suitable for publication in a non-scientific venue
  • Present a research area in a poster that is attractive to a broad audience

Specific prerequisites

The course is funded by the energy platform and is free of charge for 20 doctoral students who meet these criteria:

  • Are enrolled in the schools that comprise the Energy Platform (ABE, BIO, CSC, CHE, EES, SCI, ITM, ICT, STH), and are doing research in an energy-related field
  • Have completed at least two years of their studies
  • Have published at least one article
  • Have good oral proficiency in English

    Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.
