Intended learning outcomes

The literature course is adapted for PhD students in Technology and health. The student shall gain knowledge and experience in researching literature using different databases, critically examine scientific papers and extract important information.

Students must demonstrate knowledge and understanding regarding:

  • finding different databases for scientific literature within fields relevant to the students own research
  • research topical literature within a given field by the use of common literature databases
  • read scientific papers and efficiently extract information regarding purpose, results, conclusion(s) and method(s)
  • evaluate the relevance of a paper within the student own field of research

For the research student should after the course be able to account for, discuss and analyze special literature generated within a well-defined problem area.
