The teaching of the course builds on supervision, individually and in groups. Parts of tye course are supported by lectures and mandatory seminars. One planning report, a literature study and a method report are to be presented by the students in written and orally. There will also be mandatory written and oral seminar assignments during the course

The students shall after their studies be able to:

• show ability to search and obtain sufficient knowledge within a project field
• show ability to communicate professionally in written and oral form, by presenting own results in a report and orally
• show ability to critically examine and assess other project reports
• individually and together with others apply relevant knowledge and plan relevant project tasks for the course

Exam of at least 180 hp / 120 p from Swedish university or corresponding exam from another country within one of the fields health science, engineering or social/behavioural sciences or another relevant exam. At least 60 hp / 40 p of these should be referred to one of the fields anatomy, physiology, psychology, sociology, pedagogics, cognitive science, production engineering, product design or another relevant field. Further, Swedish B and English A is required. Exceptions from this may be made if an applicant is considered to fulfil the requirements at the registration for the course, according to the requirements of KTH.

If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.

• RED2 - Literature Study, 5.0 credits, grading scale: P, F
• RED3 - Methoddology Report, 5.0 credits, grading scale: P, F
• RED4 - Planning Report, 3.0 credits, grading scale: P, F
• SEM2 - Seminars, 2.0 credits, grading scale: P, F

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.

The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.

The grading is done using the following scale: A, B, C, D, E, F, and is based on the examinations in the course and on the manifested progression of fulfilling the intended learning outcomes in the course goals.

For passing the course all four above examination parts need to be passed.  Active participation and presentation of assignments at mandatory seminars is required for passing the course. The results of the assignments, written reports and oral accomplishments at the seminars are weighted together in the final grade (A-F).
