Supplementary information

The ICT/Communication Systems Design course offers problem-oriented, project-driven learning by doing in advanced technical R&D projects. The pedagogical model also facilitates a high degree of peer learning in teams with diverse competences represented and vicarious learning by providing access to all documentation, including lessons learned papers, from earlier offerings of the course. Both these components of the pedagogical model are reinforced in this course by having students that have participated in an earlier offering of the communication systems design course coach students that are taking it. The reinforcement works both for the coaching student that can deepen the technical experience and at the same time add leadership aspects, and for students in the communication systems design course that get access to the experiences and competence of the coach.
