- LDAP
- DNS
- File sharing services
- Remote installation services

Intended learning outcomes
The main goal of the course is to give the student practical experience, knowledge and skills that are required to understand, install and maintain different types of servers in a local network. The purpose with the computer network is to serve a small-generalized local company’s work process with modern IT technology. The course should also prepare for further studies within design and implementation of servers in production environments in global companies. Thus after the course, the participant should be able to:Explain usage of different server technologies in a local computer network.Apply different server technologies to fulfil wanted IT services in a specific local computer network.Discuss advantages and disadvantages regarding centralized and local administration.Apply directory services to administrate a local computer network.From a given problem be able to propose a design of a local computer network and be able to implement the proposed solution

- TEN1 - Examination, 3.0 credits, grading scale: A, B, C, D, E, FX, F
Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.
The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.
