Reading of simple texts, written exercises, listening comprehension and simple dialogues with the emphasis on everyday vocabulary and expressions are included in the course. Grammar exercises and pronunciation of Brazilian Portuguese are practised. Elements of Brazil, Brazilian culture, society and technical development are included.

Intended learning outcomes
The expected learning outcomes of the course are mainly at the level A2 according to CEFR, Common European Framework for Reference of Languages.
Upon completion of the course, the student should be able to:
Listening comprehension
understand the main contents in everyday speech and short, clear messages. (level A2)
Reading comprehension
understand and talk about information from different texts. (level A2)
identify facts from authentic texts. (level A2/B1)
Oral and written skills
use spoken and written language in everyday situations and simple work situations (A2)

seek information and describe relevant Brazilian facts and culture.

University entry requirements. Completion of Brazilian Portuguese A1 or the equivalent knowledge shown through an assessment made before choosing the course.

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.
The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.
If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.

Passing of all examination parts.
