Intended learning outcomes
The expected learning outcomes for the course are mainly at the level A2 according to CEFR, Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.
On completion of the course, in addition to what is evident from courses at a lower level, the student should be able to:
- use the language orally and in writing in everyday situations and simple work situations
- understand and distinguish the main contents of clear standard speech about well-known topics
- discuss about known subjects in everyday situations
- write texts such as letters to express thanks or wish
- identify facts from simple texts with technical content

General university entry requirements. Completed and passed Japanese A1, an equivalent course or the equivalent knowledge shown through a compulsory placement test made before applying for the course.

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.
