Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

A project is a structured way of working for managing temporary and unique tasks. Virtually all development and change work in industrial companies is carried out as a project. The course focuses mainly on methods for the structural part of industrial project management, although the cultural side is also touched upon. The course contains several different learning activities, including video lectures, individual assignments and digital examination. Areas covered in the course include:

  • Structural breakdown of projects
  • Goal formulation in projects
  • Activity planning
  • Project organization
  • Stakeholder management
  • Project monitoring
  • Risk and quality management

Intended learning outcomes

After passing the course, the student should be able to:

  • Explain project management concepts, methods and tools
  • Formulate project goals that are specific, measurable and possible to evaluate, accepted, realistic and time-bound
  • Apply project management concepts, methods, and tools by developing a basic project plan.
