Content and learning outcomes

Course disposition

The course includse teaching elements applying project planning, structured approach and support methods in product realization. This is then implemented in the product realization project.

The students are divided in groups of 5-6 persons. The groups are given a commitment for which the result is presented in the end of the course. Examination includes the project as well as a written exam.

Course contents

The emphasis in the course lies on a product realisation project and the teaching focus on methods and tools for the different tasks in such a project. The knowledge that is received in the course should together with previously acquired knowledge from the education be applied in the project. The project will be based in a real problem, and function, form and manufacturing aspects should be observed.

Intended learning outcomes

After passing the course, the student should be able to:

  • Describe, apply and give an account of application of methods, processes and theoretical concepts in product realisation
  • Suggest, give an account of and visualise function, configuration and form on a product
  • Carry out and apply a simple project planning and be able to describe and apply a structured working method in product realisation
  • Apply previously acquired knowledge in design visualisation, CAD, dimensioning, choice of material and production.
