After passing the course, the student shall be able to:
1. use the right concepts and correct terminology in the respective subject area
2. describe the function and use of common machine tools, equipment and manufacturing systems
3. explain principles and state prerequisites and results for different manufacturing processes
4. make relevant sustainability considerations when choosing materials and manufacturing methods
