Common mechanical manufacturing methods and systems

Use of numerically controlled machine tools

Intended learning outcomes

​​Upon successful completion of the course, the student should be able to:​

  1. ​​define concepts, explain phenomena and use correct terminology within the relevant subject area 
  2. ​describe the function and use of common machines, equipment and manufacturing systems 
  3. ​explain principles, specify conditions and describe the results of various manufacturing methods 
  4. ​carry out manufacturing-related calculations 
  5. ​operate equipment for sheet metal forming, welding and casting with the aid of instructions.​

Examination

  • LAB1 - Laboratory Exercises, 3.0 credits, grading scale: P, F
  • TEN1 - Written exam, 1.5 credits, grading scale: A, B, C, D, E, FX, F

The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.
