Course contents *

Functions of several variables. Continuity, differentiability and linear approximation. Partial derivatives, differentials, gradient. The chain rule. Extreme value problems with and without constraints. Multiple integrals, geometric applications. Elementary vector analysis: curve and surface integrals; the theorems of Gauss, Green.
