Arrival Day at KTH - Spring 2026

As a new student at KTH, we offer you arrival services and an introduction programme with both social and informative activities. Taking part in our Arrival Day and the THS International Reception is a way for you to become familiar with KTH and start making connections.

The Arrival Day for the 2026 spring semester will be on Monday 12 January. This special day is designed to give you a smooth arrival to KTH and and provide you with essential information for a great time at your new study destination. It's also a wonderful opportunity to make your first friends and become part of the vibrant KTH community.

When planning your arrival to Sweden, we highly encourage you to join us on the Arrival Day to enjoy the additional services offered. We can't wait to welcome you and help you settle in. It's going to be an exciting start to your journey at KTH!

Services during Arrival Days at KTH Campus

Here are all the services and activites we've planned to make your first day on campus truly special. During Arrival Days you'll be able to:

  • Store your luggage while you take part in the activities and services offered. Remember to label your luggage with your name and contact details before arrival.

  • Pick up your keys if you have accommodation through KTH Housing. Read more about your accommodation location and what is included in your room upon arrival at this page: Find your accommodation .

  • Receive your KTH access card, which is needed to access buildings and locked doors on campus.

  • Activate your IT account to get started with WiFi and other services included in the personal menu (email, software and more). Please bring your passport or other approved ID document, as described at this page: Acceptable forms of identification at KTH .

  • Enjoy your first fika from the Student Union (THS) and register for the THS International Student Reception  events.

  • Meet KTH staff and get answers to all your questions about being new in Sweden and at KTH.

Introduction meeting for exchange students

Join an introduction session to learn about KTH and meet your academic contacts. Two identical sessions will be held for exchange students on Arrival Day. Seats are limited for each session, and are allocated on a first-come-first-served basis. If all seats are taken, you may need to wait for the next session.

We encourage you to plan your arrival on Arrival Day to take advantage of the extra services and kick-start your journey at KTH. However, please be assured that you are welcome at KTH Entré on any other day, according to KTH Entrè's opening hours .

We'll help you pick up your accommodation keys (if your contract has started), activate your KTH account, and you will receive your access card.

You must be present at KTH by 13 January 2026

The spring semester at KTH starts on 13 January 2026. If you cannot arrive by this date, you must fill out an exemption form. The form is available here from 1 December 2025 to 13 January 2026.

Please note: If you are taking courses in chemistry or biotechnology at the start of your exchange studies with KTH, you might not be able to arrive later than 13 January due to mandatory group work at the start of the semester.

THS International Reception

From Arrival Day and during the start of the spring semester, the THS International Reception hosts a variety of activities to help you settle in at KTH.

From museum visits to karaoke and baking nights, the reception provides a fantastic opportunity to explore the city, connect with fellow students, and create lasting memories. Events with associations and chapters will also introduce you to groups you can join once the semester begins.

Travel to KTH by train

KTH Climate Students have prepared a Train Travel Guide (pdf 876 kB)  to help students plan their arrival to KTH in a more sustainable way.

You can also register to their Train Travelling Community  to receive more information, connect with other fellow students and maybe plan your journey together!

If you arrive by train, Stockholm Central Station is located just 6 minutes away from KTH by metro. You can plan your trip with Stockholm's local transport, SL (sl.se) .
