Scholarship via Erasmus+

If you are awarded an exchange place within the EU, you can apply for an Erasmus scholarship, which is usually granted to all applicants. Only students allocated an exchange place through KTH's exchange agreement within Erasmus + can be given the Erasmus scholarship.We have summarized what applies to scholarships via Erasmus+ and how to apply.

Scholarship for exchange studies in Switzerland

All KTH students on exchange studies to Switzerland are entitled to a scholarship equivalent to CHF 1,900, approximately SEK 21,350. You receive a scholarship via Erasmus+ or the Swiss-European Mobility Programme, SEMP. Which scholarship you get depends on whether you are entitled to Swedish student finance from CSN.

  • If you are entitled to CSN, apply for an Erasmus scholarship (see more information below).
  • You who are not entitled to CSN apply for SEMP. You will receive information about the application from your host university in Switzerland.

Please note that the bank Danske bank that handles KTH's payments. To receive contributions paid to your bank account, you must register your account with Danske bank. If you do not register for an account you will receive a debit card to redeem at a bank sent to your home address. KTH's employer number is 79220.

Reimbursement for green travel

Erasmus+ offer travel reimbursement in the amount of 50 € to students who choose to take the train, bus, or carpool to and/or from their study destination in Europe. The reimbursement will be made at the same time as the second payment of the Erasmus+ grant. The cost for the ticket, the destination and a confirmation number must be clearly stated on the receipt.

Extra support for students with disabilities

Students with an Erasmus scholarship who, due to permanent disability or illness, need educational support or special adaptations during their time abroad can apply for grants to cover additional costs that arise. Grants can be applied for up to 100 percent coverage of the additional costs that arise in connection with the stay abroad. Additional costs mean the increased costs that the university or the individual student receives and which are not financed in any other way, such as transport, teaching materials, housing, assistant / companion, physiotherapy and medical examination in the host country.
