On this page, you can track the course's development over time. Once the course analysis is published, data for each course offering is displayed, including the number of registered students, course results, and planned improvements for the next session. All course syllabuses and course memos are shown on the page Archive.

The information can help prospective, current, and former students with course selection, or to follow up on their own participation. Teachers, course coordinators, examiners, program directors, and others can use the page as a resource for course development.

Changes planned for the next course offering

Given the large sample size of feedback and high ratings for this course from the evaluation, no major changes to the course are envisaged for the next semester. The course seems to work well for most of the students and, from observation, it is especially those students who actively engage with the course and the course team, for example, during the project phase that are far more likely to benefit the most from the course. Minor improvements will be made to continue to improve the clarity of lab instructions and templates for both the rendering and animation tracks, and perhaps to extend the animation track assignment. This year, the lab submission was moved to earlier in the course. Based on feedback, we will investigate moving the recommended submission date even earlier next year. We will also continue to develop guidelines and exemplars related to the requirements for excellent project work, especially continuing to highlight the importance of adding scientific context to them i.e. evidencing awareness of, motivating and using elements (methods, implementations, evaluations) from the research state-of-the-art in those respective areas - an important requirement towards Master-level and especially, Master thesis work.

Substantial improvements to the clarity and structuring of instructions for the two rendering track labs. Created templates and solutions for the two rendering track lab reports in order to make reporting clearer and assist grading. Created sample code for the first lab in Processing, a flexible software sketchbook and a language for learning how to code, for those wishing not to use C++. This can be used as a basis for subsequent labs. Extended attempts to improve the amount of feedback from students through the course survey. Labs moved back to hybrid mode (both online and physical). Conducted a drive to get more feedback via the course evaluation questionnaires.
