On this page, you can track the course's development over time. Once the course analysis is published, data for each course offering is displayed, including the number of registered students, course results, and planned improvements for the next session. All course syllabuses and course memos are shown on the page Archive.

The information can help prospective, current, and former students with course selection, or to follow up on their own participation. Teachers, course coordinators, examiners, program directors, and others can use the page as a resource for course development.

I revised the assignments to make them more focused and consistent, with four questions for each assignment. I revised the questions for all assignments, for example to also include watching video lectures. I changed one of the articles for assignment on the sustainability seminar to a video talk, which presented somewhat contrasting views and enabled a discussion between the two sources for that seminar. I changed the design of the seminars to make it more consistent over the seminars, focused on discussing the four questions the students had prepared answers to.

I significantly redesigned the course to a "flipped learning" design. The fundamental idea of this approach is that the student does most of the work before the scheduled time in class, that the student makes preparatory assignments before the class. The time in class can thereby be devoted to applying the student’s knowledge from the preparations and to enable the conditions for deeper learning (“insights”) during the scheduled time in class. The reason for this change was the previous design was based on lectures and essay works. The lectures works less well online, and received bad reviews from the students. Another reason was that the previous examination of home essays works less well now when generative AI tools make it so easy to write an essay. I have also had good experience of this design from other courses.
