What Does Not Work as Well Despite the generally positive feedback, several areas emerged as clear opportunities for refinement. Some students felt that lectures were at times too general, lacking the deeper specialisation that could give the course a stronger academic niche. Both survey responses and workshop discussions pointed to the need for more up-to-date literature to better reflect the rapidly evolving debates in the field. Communication was another recurring topic: students appreciated the information provided but found that too many Canvas announcements created noise rather than clarity. A more consolidated communication strategy would likely improve their experience. Students also expressed an interest in more practical, industry-facing sessions, such as guest lectures from practitioners or case-based seminars. This would help bridge theory and real-world application more effectively. Finally, some participants—especially those less confident in academic writing—requested clearer instructions and more structured guidance for both individual and group assignments. Templates, examples, or short digital modules could help standardise expectations and support students with different academic backgrounds.

In redesigning the course, we have placed a stronger emphasis on marketing and innovation, positioning them as the core pillars of the curriculum. This strategic shift reflects the evolving demands of the field and ensures that our course equips students with the skills and knowledge most relevant to course goals. To support this transformation, we have introduced new literature that aligns closely with the updated focus areas. These materials were carefully selected to provide fresh perspectives, foster deeper understanding, and enhance the overall learning experience. We have also undertaken a comprehensive review and revision of all lectures and workshops. Each session has been thoughtfully redesigned to ensure it integrates seamlessly with the new course direction, offering a cohesive and engaging learning journey for students. Moreover, we have fine-tuned the overarching course content and updated the course PM. This refinement process ensures that all components of the course are aligned, consistent, and conducive to achieving the intended learning outcomes.
