Who owns the Brazilian carbon?

The study "Who owns the Brazilian Carbon?" hosted by the , SEED, KTH, was highlighted this week by the leading Brazilian newspaper Folha de São Paulo in a article written by the journalist Marcelo Leite. The article emphasized the findings from the study related to the potential carbon emissions associated with land use change in the Cerrado biome, savanna vegetation where most of the unprotected above-ground carbon is stored. The scientific paper " Who owns the Brazilian carbon? " was published in the journal "Global Change Biology" and authored by the PhD student Flavio Luiz Mazzaro Freitas and other 6 authors from KTH, University of São Paulo (Brazil), Chalmers University of Technology, and the NGO IMAFLORA (Brazil). The study was produced under the project " " coordinated by Ulla Mörtberg and funded by the Brazilian National Counsel of Technological and Scientific Development (CNPQ).
