This site is used both for the second cycle course EG2080 Monte Carlo Methods in Engineering and the Ph.D. course EG3131 Monte Carlo Methods in Electric Power Research. Please refer to the course syllabus in the menu to the right for more details on each course.
The topic of the courses is methods for solving complicated mathematical problems using sample surveys. Applications of Monte Carlo methods can be found in many fields, from opinion polls to simulation of technical systems. The focus is going to be on the latter, with special attention to methods that are useful for projects in electric power engineering.
