During the course, two study tours to Nordic capitals are carried out. The tours are preceded by lectures on the history of the towns. The course focuses mainly on the architecture af the latest 200 years and deals with both town planning and architectural highlights. During the tours, students conduct individual assignments, which are discussed at a final seminar. The tours take place in connection with weekends.

Course contents *

The course focuses mainly on the architecture from the latest 200 years in the capitals of the North and deals with both town planning and architectural highlights.

Intended learning outcomes *

The overall ovjective of the course is to give an introduction to Noric architecture through a kombination ov lectures and study tours. On completing the course, students shall have a good orientation concerning the specific circumstances under which the towns have developed, and knowledge of the development of the built environment and its character.

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.
