The objective of the course is to investigate how three-dimensional structures can be created through various methods of folding. On completing the course, the student shall be able to understand and to use  folding techniques to create three-dimensional structures or objects within design, within industry and within architecture.

Course contents *

The course konsist of a workshop, where focus lies on producing three-dimensional objects through folding and on investigating how they can function in different spacial contexts. Several materials are examined, as sheet aluminium, corrugated cardboard and paper. The work will result in an exhibition of the objects that have been produced during the course. The working processes will be documented through drawings and photographs.

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.

The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.

Other requirements for final grade *

To obtain the grade passed, 80% presence during the workshop and accepted assignments is required.
