Intended learning outcomes

The aim is to make students familiar with the foundations of microeconomic theory in such a way that they can use theoretical results as tools in applied analysis. This includes duality theory, Lagrange optimization, game and decision theory under risk conditions.

Learning outcome

  • Skills to formulate microeconomic problems in the form of optimisation models.
  • To capability to interpret optimisation models, results and to use them as a means to derive demand and supply behaviour as well as equilibrium solutions

Literature and preparations

Specific prerequisites

A completed Bachelor's degree including at least 30 credits in mathematics/economics and documented proficiency in English B or equivalent (TOEFL, IELTS eg).

  • TEN1 - Examination, 6.0 credits, grading scale: A, B, C, D, E, FX, F

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.

The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.

If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.
