The first part of the course comprises methods and theories associated with the analysis of general economic trends and macroeconomic variables, such as unemployment, interest rates, investments and savings. The second part of the course focuses on the analysis of macroeconomic growth, including endogenous economic growth related to human capital, R&D and innovation.

Intended learning outcomes
The goal of the course is to give the students an understanding of general macroeconomic problems, relationships and contexts. The students should also know how to seek relevant macroeconomic models for analyzing specific problems and acquire skills to characterize the long-term growth of countries on the basis of macroeconomic growth theory and time series data.

A completed Bachelor's degree including at least 30 credits in mathematics/economics and documented proficiency in English B or equivalent (TOEFL, IELTS eg).
