Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

  • Land and real property as a limited resource – balancing of interests
  • The Swedish legal system regulating different rights to real property
  • Legal rules governing the change of property boundaries in connection to change or restrictions of land use
  • Land policy, land use and property structures from a historical perspective

Intended learning outcomes

The aim of the course is to provide knowledge and understanding of the role of real property and property rights – in planning, change of land use and restrictions on land use.

Specific prerequisites

Completed and documented upper secondary education including Swedish B and English A or equivalent.

  • ÖVN1 - Assignment, 1.5 credits, grading scale: P, F
  • TEN1 - Examination, 6.0 credits, grading scale: A, B, C, D, E, FX, F

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.

The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.

If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.
