The course begins with a lecture and a workshop that focuses on the legal order and legal methods, as a basis for the studies of the different areas of law. The different areas are then covered one by one.

Course contents
Intended learning outcomes
After having taken the course the student shall have basic knowledge of the legal order, the division into legal subjects and legal concepts, about legal methods and basic proficiency i solving legal problems. The couse deals with several areas of law, for exampel European Community law, public law, the law of contracts, property law, and the private law of real property.
After having taken the course the student shall be able to:
* Identify basic legal problems and find the applicable legal rules in the areas of law covered by the course.
* Apply the relevant legal rules when solving basic legal problems in the areas of law covered by the course, and to explain the reasons for the application of the rules to the problem.

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.
The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.
To take the exam at least 70% attendance on seminars is required at each part of the course.
