This course will give you knowledge of theories and experience of methods for market analysis used by real estate firm as well as knowledge of how developers and planning authorities interact in the early phase of a real estate project. You will use the knowledge which you acquire in this course to evaluate a large mix use commercial project.

The understanding of theory and methods used for market analysis should enable students to:
- Explain and analyse differences in supply and demand conditions to determine project absorption and market GAP.
- Evaluate the relationship between a national business cycle and a local real estate cycle.
- Determine and apply a primary, secondary and extended market area.
- Rate and compare a residential project in relation to competing projects according tophysical and locational differences.
- Evaluate target groups for a commercial real estate project.
- Apply different models of urban growth to determine directions of growth.
