The course is given entirely remotely with teacher-led meetings on-line in the form of a two-hour seminar per week during work hours. Attendance at the seminar lectures and active participation in discussions of these as well as of the video and written material studied before the seminars is required. The video material includes, for example, demonstrations of apps and instruments as well as films for applying the RAMP tools. In addition to the seminars, the course includes literature studies and four assignments.
CH211V RAMP Course 3: Proficiency in using RAMP for Risk Management of Work-Related Injuries 2.5 credits
In RAMP Course 3: Proficiency in using RAMP for Risk Management of Work-Related Injuries about RAMP, you learn to use all four modules in the RAMP tool and you become skilled in managing the whole risk management process and you will work with authentic cases from the business community. An appreciated and educational feature is the opportunity to bring your own cases from workplaces for review and discussion!

Course contents
In the course “Advanced Skills in Using RAMP for Risk Management of Work-Related Injuries”, you will learn to use all four modules of the RAMP tool and become proficient in managing the entire risk management process. You get to work with authentic cases from the business world.
The course content is given in different modules with a focus on:
- Summary from RAMP course 1 and 2,
- Assessment and examples from industry with heavy lifting and unfavorable working positions,
- Work with the RAMP tools,
- The risk management process,
- Repetitive work,
- Discussions and reflections, including a research article
The course is given remotely.
In the course seminars and for the assignments, the course language is Swedish. Some of the course material, including videos and self-correcting tasks, is in English
Intended learning outcomes
In this, the third RAMP course, the main objective is that the student becomes proficient in how to use the RAMP tool for systematic risk management of MSDs in manual handling jobs.
After successful completion of this course the student shall:
- be skilled in applying all four modules in the RAMP tool for MSD risk management
- be able to collect relevant and comprehensive information of the work tasks to be analysed
- be able to identify risks using RAMP I and RAMP II
- be able to assess risks using RAMP I and RAMP II
- be able to develop risk reducing solutions and action plans
- be able to communicate the results to various stakeholders

120 credits in technical science, natural science or medical science. Alternatively, at least 2 years of professional experience in work environment development. English B/6
