Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

The course provides knowledge and skills for the student to be able to work as an employee and leader in working life and to be able to reflect on the possibilities and limitations of technology to contribute to sustainable development with a particular focus on gender equality and equality. The student gains basic knowledge from research on gender and organization about how inequality and gender inequality can be expressed in working life, and about inclusive and exclusive processes in organizations. Based on this knowledge, the student will reflect, individually and in groups, on their own practice and the need for changed practices to promote equal, gender-equal and inclusive workplaces.

The course also provides basic knowledge from research on technology and gender with the aim of contributing to inclusive technological development. With a particular focus on medical technology, the student will gain knowledge of how inequality and inequality can affect technological development and how technological development can in turn both recreate and counteract inequality and inequality in society.

Intended learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student should be able to:

Identify and give examples of expressions of inequality and gender inequality in working life

Identify and give examples of inclusive and exclusive processes in organizations
