Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

The course consists of individual essay writing and seminar discussions. The examination will be based on an assessment of the final essay as well as active participation in the examination seminar.

Intended learning outcomes

After the course the students should have

- ability to produce a text in which s/he critically reflects over her own research practice, with a basis in self-reflexive methodology

- ability to reason in writing around how social complexity affects the preconditions for her/his own research endeavor

- ability to identify and assess the epistemological and ethical challenges relating to a specific research project

- outline in writing how her/his research approach relates to different epistemological and scientific ideals
