Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

  • Analysis and system specification
  • Design and implementation rules for reusability, maintenance and extensions
  • Testing and programme validation methods
  • Documentation. Installation support and manual
  • Version handling
  • Juridical aspects of software development

Intended learning outcomes

This course will train the student to develop large software systems working in engineering projects.

The project will give basic understanding and training in methods and tools used in software development.

After completion of the course the student should

  • have knowledge of the development process of a large software system, with regard to reusability, maintenance and extensions
  • be able to analyse and design a large software system
  • be able to implement and test a large software system
  • have knowledge of documentation (implementation as well as user perspective)

have deeper knowledge of project methods

Specific prerequisites

Knowledge of object oriented programming. Basic knowledge of algorithms. Knowledge of project methods in development processes.
