HM1M06 Project Management I 7,5 hp

Course contents:

The course will be covering areas of cost estimating methods, scope planning, scope definition, creating a WBS and scope control. It contains developing a project charter in order to define the project and creating a management plan for the project and systems for monitoring and controlling the project like the Earned Value Management.

Aim of the course

The aim is to give the participant knowledge within the project management areas of:

• ·         Project Management Framework
• ·         Project Scope Management
• ·         Project Integration Management
• ·         Project Cost Management
• ·         Project Time Management

  Goals of the course

After the course the participants should be able to:

• Define a Work Breakdown Structure for a project
• Write a project Charter and define the scope of a project
• Create a structure for reporting to and cooperate with the sponsor
• Make cost and time estimates of the project execution

Eligibility for "free movers" applying to single courses:

Completed upper secondary schooling including documented proficiency in English.

Examinator beslutar, baserat på rekommendation från KTH:s handläggare av stöd till studenter med funktionsnedsättning, om eventuell anpassad examination för studenter med dokumenterad, varaktig funktionsnedsättning.

Examinator får medge annan examinationsform vid omexamination av enstaka studenter.

När kurs inte längre ges har student möjlighet att examineras under ytterligare två läsår.

Requirements for final grade:

• Group assignments (3) submitted during the course (2 credits)
• Seminar report and presentation performed in the group
• Written examination.

• Vid grupparbete har alla i gruppen ansvar för gruppens arbete.
• Vid examination ska varje student ärligt redovisa hjälp som erhållits och källor som använts.
• Vid muntlig examination ska varje student kunna redogöra för hela uppgiften och hela lösningen.
