HN204X Degree Project in Ergonomics, Second Cycle 15.0 credits

The degree project should constitute part of a specialised study in the main field at second cycle level to satisfy the requirements for the degree of master of science (60 credits). This implies that the degree project should be carried out in the main field of study. The degree project can be carried out in KTH or externally. The student is supervised during the period of study by supervisors both at KTH and at the company.

After passing the course, the student should:

• be able to apply relevant knowledge and skills that have been acquired in the main field of study on a given problem
• within given frames, also with limited information, be able to independently analyse and discuss complex issues as well as handle larger problems at second cycle level in the main field of study
• demonstrate the ability to reflect upon, evaluate and critically review own scientific results and those of others'
• be able to document and present own work with a high level of requirements for structure, formalities and language
• demonstrate the ability to identify own need for additional knowledge and take responsibility for the development of own knowledge

A minimum of 30 credits must have been completed through the one year KTH master´s programme "Ergonomics and Human-Technology-Organisation", of which 15 credits should be within the main field of study at advanced level.

An independent literature search and study within the relevant field is expected.

Additional reading may be suggested by the examiner or supervisor.

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.

The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.

If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.

This take the form planning, and implementation of the work according to that plan, as well as a written report and oral presentation of the work. Grading is on P/F scale (pass-fail)
