Examination and completion

Grading scale

A, B, C, D, E, FX, F

Examination

  • XUP3 - Examination Question, 15.0 credits, grading scale: A, B, C, D, E, FX, F

Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.

The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.

If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.

The degree project will be assessed in terms of:

  • process
  • engineering and academic contents
  • presentation

To receive a passing grade, the performance may not receive a failing grade on any of the three grounds for assessment. The grade constitutes an overall assessment and is decided by the examiner.

Examination is conditional on participation in lectures/seminars on scientific theory and method.

Examination requires a final report with a passing grade that has been brought up during a seminar, as well as participation as an opponent at a public defence. The full examination work will be reported as one unit of 15.0 credits. The title of the examination work in Swedish and English will be recorded in the final grade.

Other requirements for final grade

For the degree project to receive a passing grade, a partial presentation must have been carried out. Weekly time reports, in writing, must have been submitted. The degree project must have been checked for plagiarism, and once it has been given a passing grade after a seminar, the final report must be submitted in accordance with the instructions from the department.

A grade will be awarded on the scale A-F. Passing grades are A-E, with A being the highest.
