Course contents
- Legislation relating to the role of public authority within municipalities.
- Planning, building permit and building control process under the Planning and Building Act
- Regylation of land use and nature protection areas of the Environmental code
- History of Architecture related to small single family houses
Intended learning outcomes
After the course the student should be able to:
- Show good knowledge of detailed plans, building permits management and building control
- Apply relevant parts of the Planning and Building Act
- Explain how the building permit process works:
- Apply the legislation relating to the role of public power in municipalities
- Demonstrate an understanding of the legal language and understanding of good communication with building permit applicants,

Examination and completion
If the course is discontinued, students may request to be examined during the following two academic years.
Grading scale
Examination
- INL1 - Assignment, 1.0 credits, grading scale: P, F
- SEM3 - Seminars, 4.0 credits, grading scale: P, F
- TEN2 - Written Examination, 2.5 credits, grading scale: P, F
Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.
The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.
The examination consists of compulsory lectures on 4 credits, one assignment at 1 credit and a take-home exam at 2,5 credits. Grading scale is P/F (Pass/Fail).
Other requirements for final grade
Pass (P) on INL1, SEM3, TEN2
Opportunity to complete the requirements via supplementary examination
Opportunity to raise an approved grade via renewed examination
