Content and learning outcomes

Course contents

The aim of the course is to give the students skills in their future work as real estate agents, so that they can fulfill their duties when real property is sold. The student shall have knowledge of real property units and rights and obligations in such properties. The course is designed to meet the requirements for registration as an real estate agent set by the Swedish Board of Supervision of Estate Agents.

The field that students are expected to handle is the part of property law governing when and how public authorities can influence an individual's disposition and care of their properties. It may be mandatory provisions that restrict freedom of contract but also rules that directly affect the individual property owner's disposition of his property without another party being involved. The students mainly work with the planning and environmental legislation and its impact on the owner's disposition of his property and various forms of procedural decisions concerning the adjustment of property division and rights - administrative procedures, cadastral and trial procedures. In addition, collaboration issues between the properties, mostly under the Joint Facilities Act and the Joint Property Units (Management) Act are handled.

Intended learning outcomes
