Content and learning outcomes
Course contents
- Planning, design and construction of minor construction objects
- Calculations, planning and implementation
- Geotechnical construction-oriented laboratory work and field exercises
- Water requirements in a neighborhood
- Design of water supply and sewage piping
Intended learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students will be able to:
- Actively assist in the planning and construction of minor roads, embankments, tunnels, bridges or dockside construction works
- Perform basic time and cost estimates for construction works
- Draw practical conclusions from experimental values
- Document work in a written report
- Calculate the total water requirements for an area with various types of developments and urban functions
- Calculate run-off from wastewater and surface water for an area with various types of developments and urban functions
- Dimension water mains, wastewater pipes, and storm pipes from this area

- PROA - Project, 5.0 credits, grading scale: A, B, C, D, E, FX, F
- TENA - Examination, 2.5 credits, grading scale: A, B, C, D, E, FX, F
Based on recommendation from KTH’s coordinator for disabilities, the examiner will decide how to adapt an examination for students with documented disability.
The examiner may apply another examination format when re-examining individual students.
